Portfolio artwork: This ongoing artistic research investigates urban migratory plant life as a form of citizenship. Using tracing, woodblock printing and generative coding to remix hybrid cultures found along the Sumidagawa river which has been the main port of entry for goods and ideas to the city of Tokyo since the Edo period. Today, river haulage has largely been replaced by highway 6 which runs parallel to the river and continues to provide a route for shipping containers from the port to polis. Louise Rouse is an artist, researcher and educator based in Tokyo. Her work has been exhibited in Nakanojo Biennale, Japan; Bloc Projects Gallery, UK; Ink Shop, Ithaca NY; Printed Matter NY; Hagiso, Tokyo; and more. Louise is a PhD candidate in the Printmaking department at Tokyo University of Arts and an adjunct professor teaching mokuhanga, silkscreen, electro-etching intaglio, digital hybrid printmaking, drawing and computer imaging courses at Temple University Japan, a NASAD accredited BA Art program in English.

ラウス・ルイーズは２００７年より東京に在住しているアーティスト、研究者です。2011年3月に多摩美術大学大学院を卒業し、そのご作家活動、出版、研究し続け、2013年から米大学タイラースクールオブアートの日本校舎で版画項目を教え、共に、2019年から文部科学省の国費留学生プログラムの支援いただき、東京藝術大学油学科のシュナイダーミヒャエル准教授の版画研究室にて、博士研究を行っています。
